Helping to rejuvenate Basingstoke's green spaces

Through our charitable arm, VIVID Plus, we're supporting a community project to rejuvenate Basingstoke's neglected green spaces. So far, we've donated £6,250 to the project and contributed several VIVID staff to support waste removal.

Volunteers are tasked with clearing rubbish and green waste, weeding, and maintaining the newly cleared spaces.

Sarah Smith, Place Shaping Manager said "VIVD Plus has enabled us to support a variety of projects in our communities. By improving these green spaces, we hope to see a positive impact on both our customers and residents' health and wellbeing.”

The project, which is also supported by Basingstoke Mencap and Councillor Jacky Tustain, is looking for volunteers to join the team. They meet at Popley Fields Community Centre, RG24 9AE, at 10am every Friday. Equipment and refreshments are provided.

Councillor Jacky Tustain said “I am extremely grateful to VIVID, Basingstoke Mencap and all the volunteers for their support. We are already seeing improvements to our local greenspaces, and I look forward to seeing the project grow.”
