Last year, we made a meaningful change to how we support customers with remortgaging and transfer of equity. By bringing both processes in-house, we’ve made things simpler, faster, and more affordable.
In total, 25 remortgaging transactions were completed: 23 customers changed lenders, and 2 obtained additional lending. Since July 2024, we’ve managed the entire remortgaging process internally. That means customers no longer need to pay the £240 + VAT solicitor fee, and what used to take a couple of months can now be wrapped up in just a few weeks. It’s a great example of how we’re improving service while saving people money.
We’ve also changed how we handle transfer of equity. Last year, we supported 10 customers through this process, with 6 still ongoing. Previously, this was outsourced to solicitors, costing around £350 + VAT. Now, we do it all in-house, at no extra cost to the customer.
