Employment and training

Finding a job can be tough, especially if you’ve been out of work for some time, or you’ve just left school or college and have very little or no experience

We can help you on your journey to finding work

We offer a range of specialist support, advice and guidance to support you if you’re looking  for new job opportunities. Our dedicated Employment and Training team has decades of experience and expertise in careers guidance, job searching and supporting people to achieve their goals.

Last year we helped over 625 people, ranging from jobs and training, to work experience and digital skills, moving them closer to employment.

We offer a free, voluntary, 1-1 support and guidance service and support you with the following:

  • Using computers to carry out job searches, and claimant commitments if your claiming benefits
  • How to apply for jobs on-line
  • Access to a range of accredited and non-accredited training
  • Support to create or update your CV
  • Help with writing covering letters and completing application forms
  • Assistance with interview preparation and techniques including some funding for equipment and clothing
  • Advice and guidance to help further your career.

We have great relationships with a range of local employers and training schemes, which means we can help you match your skills and experience to the right job for you. If you have little or no experience, we can try and help find you some voluntary work which will give you some skills and experience to put on your CV.

We can help you!

Job clubs

Please note that our job clubs are currently not running due to coronavirus, but we’ve recently moved our Employment and Training service online to continue supporting your journey into work.

Our team of employment and training specialists host weekly workshops online to support you on your journey to employment. All of these workshops are interactive and hosted in small groups to ensure that you get the most out of it, however our Employment and Training team can work with you on a one-to-one basis as a follow up to these workshops to provide further support.

We can help you: use a computer for job searching, fulfil your claimant commitment if your claiming benefits, improve your CV, apply for jobs and courses, improve your interview skills, provide advice on careers and training, find volunteering and work experience, and we can signpost you to helpful wellbeing support sources.

To secure a place on any of our courses, please email employmentandtraining@vividhomes.co.uk or call 0800 652 0898 and ask to speak to a member of the Employment and Training team. The sessions will take place via Microsoft Teams and we’ll be able to provide you detailed instructions on how to access this software.
