Change my tenancy

You’ll need to tell us if something major happens in your life. This includes if you get married or if the person who holds the tenancy has died

How to make a change to your tenancy details

You need to let us know if you want to

  • Change your name. Tell us your old and new name. We’ll need to see the necessary paperwork
  • Bring your tenancy to an end. Tell us the date you’re planning to leave and we’ll get in touch to do the rest
  • Take someone off your tenancy. We’ll then arrange for you both to come in and sign the paperwork
  • Add someone to your tenancy (we call it changing from a sole to a joint tenancy). We’ll then arrange for you both to come in and sign the paperwork
  • End a tenancy because someone has died. We’ll also need a copy of the original death certificate (which we'll return to you)
  • Apply to take over a tenancy because someone has died. Again, we’ll need a copy of the original death certificate to do this
  • Cancel your garage rent. Once we know, from the next Monday, we’ll trigger your one week’s notice period. You’ll need to return the keys to us by 12 noon that Monday too. There’s a key safe in our reception areas. To cancel, you must also be up-to-date with your garage rent

Doing things online or by email is normally the quickest and easiest way, but we know it’s not always the best way for everyone. You can phone us on 0800 652 0898 (our phone lines are open 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm on Friday). But remember, the phones do get really busy. And you might have to wait.
