Partner spotlight: Yateley Industries

Supporting local organisations

Yateley Industries is a charity providing housing, training and employment to people with disabilities, recognising that every person should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential and have the chance to make a meaningful contribution to society.

VIVID Plus has supported several of their initiatives. One such project is the Community Café and Warm Space at Yateley Community Pantry, a scheme that supports over 700 families and individuals in accessing essential food and hygiene products. During the winter months, members can enjoy a hot beverage and a meal in a welcoming, warm environment for just £1. The space also serves as a venue for hosting external groups.

To fund this new space, Yateley Industries utilised VIVID Plus's crowdfunding platform. An innovative tool that allows us to offer financial support to local organisations but also encourages donation from the local community. Through the crowdfunder, Yateley Industries raised over £2,000, with money donated by VIVID Plus and members of the public.

We also supported Yateley Industries in establishing a community allotment. This project, funded with a £2,000 grant from VIVID Plus, not only supplies fresh produce to the community pantry but also serves as a meaningful activity for their disabled staff and residents. Furthermore, the allotment has boosted community engagement, with volunteers from local groups and schools actively participating.

Sheldon McMullan, Chief Executive Officer for Yateley Industries, said “We really appreciate the support VIVID Plus has given us. With the continued cost of living crisis, being able to offer affordable food and a place to keep warm is a vital resource. We look forward to continuing to work with VIVID to support our residents and the local community.”
