One of the objectives of our community investment strategy is that our customers will live in healthy environments and have access to initiatives which will work to reduce health inequalities. With the high cost of living and difficulty accessing free dental care, the VIVID Plus place shaping team worked to organise an event to support local customers with their children’s dental care and offer guidance on ways to reduce bills.  

Customers were able to get advice on how to cut essential bills, wellbeing support and help with the cost of living. Parents/carers were able to collect dental packs and sign up for free children’s dentist appointments. 

Sarah Smith, Place Shaping Manager, VIVID Plus, said “We know that for many people, with the ever-present cost of living crisis and impact on essential bills, it remains an area of concern. One particular area we were made aware of as a big issue locally is child dental care. Through this event and the help of local partners, we were able to give valuable support and advice to our Hilsea customers and help them sign up for free child dental care.”
