North Town community celebrates next chapter as regeneration programme completes

VIVID customers, community partners and project stakeholders came together today to celebrate a milestone 16 years in the making as North Town's regeneration was officially completed and a new community centre opened its doors at the heart of the neighbourhood. Together, they marked not just the completion of hundreds of new homes, but the culmination of a long-term investment in a community that has grown stronger throughout the regeneration journey.  

The event marked the next chapter for North Town, bringing together people who have lived through the area's transformation and those who helped make it possible. The new community centre provides a welcoming space for residents to come together, access support, take part in community activities and build lasting connections.  

North Town's story has never been just about new homes. Over the past 16 years, it has been about investing in people, supporting local aspirations and creating opportunities for the community to flourish. The community centre builds on that legacy, providing a place where people can connect, learn and celebrate for years to come.

Guests at the event joined in celebrating the completion of the regeneration programme and the official opening of the community centre, recognising the partnerships and shared commitment that have helped make the project possible.  

Since regeneration plans were first approved in 2009, North Town has benefited from significant investment in homes, facilities and public spaces, helping to create a neighbourhood fit for the future. While today marks the completion of the regeneration programme, it is also an opportunity to reflect on how far North Town has come, celebrate the people who have been part of that journey and look ahead with confidence to the future of the community.
