Franchesca has now been living in her new home for 6 months, but she still remembers the first time she saw it. She picked up the keys last October and moved in gradually from her parents’ house. By the end of November, she and her little girl were settled into their new space.
Opening the front door for the first time is a moment that’s stayed with her.
“It’s an amazing feeling when you see a brand‑new shiny home,” she said. “I had an idea in mind of what I really wanted, and this was it.”
After living with her mum, stepping into a home of her own felt exciting.
“To have our own space, and to know no one else had ever lived here… it really feels like it’s ours,” she said. “It’s an indescribable feeling.”
Picking up new hobbies
Franchesca thought the living room would be her favourite part of the house, but the kitchen has become her happy place.
“It’s a kitchen diner, so there’s loads of space,” she said. “Having that space has actually got me into cooking, which I never thought I’d be interested in!”
Six months in, having her own home has encouraged new hobbies and memories. She’s loving creating a space that feels cosy and most importantly, hers and her daughters.

Franchesca told us we made getting her home and moving in feel seamless and stress‑free.
“VIVID have been great at communicating,” she said. “If I ever have any worries or concerns, there’s always someone to speak to.”
She also likes having different ways to get in touch.
“I’m not really someone who calls people, so I love being able to use live chat or send a message. I know I’ll get a notification when someone replies. Customer‑service wise, it’s always been brilliant.”
A safe place to call home
For Franchesca, moving into her new home has meant far more than picking up keys. It’s given her and her daughter a safe, good-quality place to call home. And that, she says, is something she’ll never take for granted.
