Ideal Heating boiler safety notice

20/02/2024 – Ideal Heating update notice

Following the customer notice issued on 1st February by Ideal Heating, they have let us know they will be rolling out the product safety upgrade from the end of this month. In the meantime, customers can continue to use their boiler, safely.

Products in current production are not affected by Ideal Heating's safety notice.

Ideal Heating notice of 1 February

We have been notified by Ideal Heating that they have identified a potential issue with several of their Combi and System boilers, installed between August 2022 until 7 January 2024.

In a small proportion of boilers (approximately 1 in 10,000), if an excessive volume of air has become trapped inside the boiler in a fault condition, it could cause the boiler to overheat and fail.

Ideal Heating has confirmed you can continue to use your boiler as normal - you don’t need to turn it off.  You can read their notice here the meantime.

Ideal Heating is identifying which boilers are affected by their serial number and will let us know so we can directly contact those customers whose boilers are affected about next steps. This will include an additional part that will need to be added to the affected boilers, it will not affect the performance or efficiency of your boiler.

Do I need to turn my boiler off?

You can continue to use your boiler as normal. However, Ideal Heating advise you repressurise your boiler to 1.5 Bar. Instructions for how to do this, can be found on their dedicated webpage www.idealsupport.co.uk
