We built a mix of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes in Basingstoke, under this joint venture with Barratt Homes

Delivering a vibrant new community

The redevelopment of this important town centre site was long awaited by the local community and delivered much-needed homes for Basingstoke residents to enjoy.

We worked with Barratt Homes and designed a flagship scheme which included a large open space, kept the iconic award-winning art-deco White Building on the site, and delivered a low rise housing scheme in keeping with the existing architecture.

The 25.6 acre site provided a total of 618 new homes, 248 of which were affordable for both rent and shared ownership.

We built a mix of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes under this joint venture with Barratt Homes, where we shared the surplus created on the private homes to reinvest back into the affordable homes.

With a cost of £95 million, the project completed in phases between 2017 to 2021.

Award wins

The iconic White Building at the heart of this redevelopment earned Barratt Homes two prestigious awards in November and December 2020. It was declared the winner of ‘Best Refurbishment Project’ at the Housebuilder Awards, and it won bronze for ‘Best Renovation’ at the WhatHouse? Awards. We’re pleased the project has been recognised and look forward to our award-winning partnership with Barratt Homes continuing, so we can deliver more homes and bright futures for our customers.
