Fire doors
As part of our commitment to ensuring the highest level of fire safety in our homes, we regularly review all of the fire doors within our buildings.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 makes it a legal duty for landlords to ensure that fire doors are correctly installed and adequately maintained to ensure they’re fit for purpose.
So, it’s important that we inspect these doors, to ensure they’re safe, compliant, and effective in protecting our customers in the event of a fire.
Since 23 January 2023 it has been a requirement under Regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations that we carry out fire door checks in all buildings over 11 metres (typically this is 5 storeys high and above).
- We’re currently carrying out inspections to the front doors in our tall buildings (over 11 metres) and we’ve commissioned a company called Inline Safety to carry out these inspections.
- Inline Safety will carry out inspections of all communal fire doors on a quarterly basis, and they will attempt to inspect all front entrance doors annually.
