Your wellbeing

We’re committed to providing homes and a range of services to help you to improve your wellbeing and have a brighter future. From searching for a job, accessing benefit advice or improving your digital skills, we can support you.

As a result, over the past year:

  • customers have claimed over £2 million in unclaimed benefits
  • 79 people have got back into employment
  • 48 customers have registered with HomeSwapper, to move to a more suitable home
  • 91 customers have taken steps to become more confident using computers and the internet through our digital mentor service in local libraries
  • 22 customers have gained a qualification.

Here are some examples:

  • Beverley recently attended an IT course in Eastleigh. She said: “Improving my IT skills has boosted my confidence. I feel more positive and I’ve been offered a new job that I’ll be starting shortly – I’m looking forward to a fresh start.”
  • Simon’s been receiving help from our Employment and Training team to find a job. He said: "My dyslexia meant that my visits to the job centre used to be really stressful, but with the support I’ve received I’m more relaxed and confident about going.”
  • Sarah received support to help her with her debt and arrears: “Zoe helped me to claim a Discretionary Housing Payment, which paid off a big chunk of my arrears, and then helped me to set up a Direct Debit, so each month I paid a bit more off my account – and this gave me piece of mind. I can’t believe how close I am to paying off all my debt - I feel so much better knowing that it’s under control.”
