The 8th May is the 75th anniversary of the end of World War 2 in Europe. It was set to be a significant occasion with the May bank holiday moved and large-scale events planned. And we know that many of you would have normally attended community events, parades and street parties to commemorate the anniversary.
Despite these events being cancelled due to coronavirus, we’d still like you to get into the spirit of the day at home and there are lots of activities and ways that you can still get involved that are suitable for all ages.
The National Memorial Arboretum, has produced activity packs for both children and adults which include puzzles, recipes, extracts from Churchill speeches, lyrics to war songs and much more. So why not get involved and share what you’re doing to mark this special day with our community on our social media channels!
We ask that if any of you are taking part in the doorstep parties to mark the accession, that you’re respectful of your neighbours and consider you and your family’s behaviour. If you experience any ASB issues, please make a note of what’s happening and report to the Police on 101 or contact us after the weekend. We ask that if any of you are taking part in the doorstep parties to mark the accession, that you’re respectful of your neighbours and consider you and your family’s behaviour.
