We're pleased to be supporting the Safeguarding campaign, led by the legal firm Capsticks. It’s helping to raise awareness of safeguarding, so our staff are reminded of their responsibilities and know how we can help protect children and adults at risk of abuse and neglect.
Safeguarding is an everyday responsibility within housing associations but not an everyday occurrence. So, it’s important that we reminded staff of their responsibilities.
We have an effective safeguarding culture; in the past year we’ve referred a total of 163 cases to Adult Social Care and 7 cases to Children’s Service because of suspected abuse or neglect.
We take safeguarding very seriously. Our Tenancy Support Manager has recently become the Housing Sub Group Chair for the Hampshire Safeguarding Adults Board.
Sarah went along to a meeting recently to discuss safeguarding lessons learned by other organisations and to talk about how we can work better together with our partners to help keep our customers safe.
