Residents living at our Abbey Court Extra Care scheme in Basingstoke, held a special Christmas celebration to mark their home’s 30th birthday.
Abbey Court first opened its doors on 16 December 1988. And since then it’s provided wellbeing support, safety and security for hundreds of elderly and vulnerable customers.
In the morning, residents were joined by children from the adjoining nursery to sing Christmas carols before a visit from Santa. After their Christmas party lunch everyone enjoyed a special birthday cake.
Resident Margaret said: “It’s lovely to celebrate our home’s 30th birthday. The staff are tremendous and are always there when you need them. There’s always lots going on and it’s a great place for friendships. And living here gives my family peace of mind. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else!”
Toni, our Older Persons’ Support Worker, added: “It was great to see the residents of Abbey Court come together to celebrate our birthday.”
Abbey Court is one of our Extra Care scheme in Basingstoke, made up of 51 self-contained flats. The residents have access to care depending on their care needs, allowing them to continue to live independently in the community.
